Explanation:
Neottia grows on soil rich humus. It has an underground stem with a cluster of roots. The roots are associated with endotrophic mycorrhiza. The fungus absorbs its food from humus and the cortical cells of the roots of Neottia absorb food from humus. Neottia is actually a parasite on fungus.
