The rate of a reaction decreased by 3.555 times when the temperature was changed from 40°C to 30°C. The activation energy (in kJ mol–1) of the reaction is_________

Take; R = 8314 J mol–1 K–1 In 3.555 = 1.268

log(k2/k1) = Ea/2.303R[1/T1 - 1/T2]

log(3.555) = Ea/2.303R[1/303 - 1/313]

1.268 × 8.314 × 303 × 313 = 10 Ea

So, Ea = 100 kJ
