Calculate the molecular masses of the following compounds:
(a) Methanol CH3OH
(b) Ethanol, C2H5OH

(a) Molecular mass of Methanol (CH3OH)
= 1 x C + 3 x H + 1 x O + 1 x H = (12 + 3 + 16 + 1)u = 32u
(b) Molecular mass of Ethanol (C2H5OH)
= 2 x C + 5 x H + 1 x O + 1 x H = (24 + 5 + 16 + 1) = 46u
