(a) On strong heating, blue copper sulphate crystals turn white.

CuSO4.5H2O + Heat → CuSO4 + 5H2O

(b) When water is added to anhydrous copper sulphate, it gets hydrated and turns blue.

CuSO4 + 5H2O → CuSO4.5H2O
